How the visual crop selection works
Upload a static JPG, PNG or WebP and drag across the preview to create a crop rectangle. Toolmera shows only the selected area at full brightness while dimming the pixels that will be removed.
You can also edit X, Y, width and height numerically when an exact pixel region matters.
Aspect ratios for common layouts
Free crop follows the rectangle you draw. Presets for 1:1, 4:3, 16:9 and 9:16 create centered selections with those proportions, which can help prepare assets for square, landscape or vertical layouts.
Cropping changes which pixels are kept; it is different from resizing, which changes the dimensions of the retained image.
What happens during export
The selected pixels are drawn to a new Canvas and exported in the source image format when that format is JPG, PNG or WebP.
JPEG and WebP outputs are re-encoded, while PNG uses PNG export. Source metadata is not copied into the new cropped file.
